NOTICE OF VACANCY IN OFFICE OF COUNCILLOR
PARISH OF KINGS WALDEN
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN
that a casual vacancy has arisen in the Office of Councillor for the Parish Council.
If by Friday 19th February (14 days after the date of this notice) a request for an election to fill said vacancy is made in writing to the Proper Officer at the address below by TEN electors for the said Parish, an election will be held to fill the said vacancy, otherwise the vacancy will be filled by co-option.
If an election is called it will, under the provisions of the Coronavirus Act 2020, take place on the 6th May 2021.

Following the resignation of Councillor Liz Thurlby, the council has three vacancies. The council would like to thank Cllr Thurlby for her many years of service and wishes her well in the future. Anyone on the electoral register or with association with the parish by way of residence or occupation, may apply to join. If you would like more information, please contact the clerk.

Parish Logo Competition
The parish council has adopted a logo, designed by Councillor Joe Graziano. The logo incorporates an owl, reflecting the carved owl outside Breachwood Green village hall.

Play Areas Open
The council has opened the Breachwood Green and Ley Green play areas.
Users are reminded to observe all Covid-19 restrictions:
- Follow the current social distance guidelines and encourage your children to do the same.
- If the playground is busy, consider coming back art a later time. Talk to your children about this before visiting.
- Wash your and your children’s hands before and after visiting. Take hand sanitiser with you and consider taking a bottle of water to wash children’s hands.
- Follow and adhere to all current government advice in addition to the above guidance.

The council has commissioned local artist Dave Flemons to carve the Breachwood Owl on the stump of an old maple tree in front of the Village Hall in Chapel Lane.

About The Parish
Kings Walden Parish Council serves the villages of Breachwood Green, Kings Walden and Ley Green and the hamlets of Darley Hall, Lawrence End, Diamond End, Wandon Green and Austage End in Hertfordshire.
